Bohol Strengthens Corn, Cassava Sectors in Push for Food Security, Climate Resilience

The Bohol provincial government, through its Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) and in partnership with DA Region VII, convened the 1st Quarter Corn Technicians Meeting on April 3, 2025 at the Bohol Agricultural Promotion Center to boost the province’s corn and cassava industries.

The meeting discussed updates on programs, 2025 seed and fertilizer distribution targets, and market trends to enhance farmer productivity and promote sustainable agriculture.

APCO-Bohol’s Roman Dabalos underscored the need for proper monitoring of agricultural inputs and farmer registration under the RSBSA, while Dr. Larry Pamugas of OPA urged technicians to focus on food sufficiency and maximizing Bohol’s agricultural potential.

The program aligns with Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado’s Strategic Change Agenda and Bohol’s commitment to climate-smart agriculture as a UNESCO Global Geopark.
