TAGBILARAN CITY — The Provincial Government of Bohol, led by Gov. Aris Aumentado and Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Dr. Anthony Damalerio, signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Alinea International on Wednesday to implement the Governance for Climate and Disaster Resilience (Gov-CDR) project.
Edgardo Catalan, Alinea Philippines country project manager, represented the Canadian-based organization during the signing, which aims to support local governments and communities in assessing risks, mitigating hazards, and improving disaster preparedness and climate change resilience.
The six-year initiative (2024–2030) is funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and implemented by Alinea International.
Canadian Ambassador to the Philippines David Hartman witnessed the signing, along with Catalan, Isabel Hernando, senior international assistance officer of GAC, and representatives from provincial and national government agencies, academia, and civil society organizations.
As the Philippines’ first and only UNESCO Global Geopark and designated Regenerative Island, Bohol aims to strengthen its commitment to building smarter, climate-resilient communities under a strategic governance framework for sustainable growth.
